SERIO 

Jonathán Pérez, better known as Serio, is a Chicano Rap artist from Los Angeles, CA. His grandmother nicknamed him "Serio", which in Spanish means serious, because as a child he always had a serious look on his face. Serio has loved rap since childhood and started writing & rapping when he was a teenager. 

In 2005 he started his professional music career. Serio made his acting debut as an actor in 2009 in the short film "Blazed" where he played a DJ and Bully in 2 separate roles in the movie. He would later star in several documentary films about his music career.

Today Serio is a Mexican American Rap Artist known all over the world. He has done concerts and continues to do concerts in all major U.S. Cities and 33 States in America. He has also done concerts all over the world and has toured not only in the United States but also Mexico, Canada, and Japan. He still travels to this day doing concerts all over. Such as places like Australia, England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Philippines, and Guam just to name a few countries. 

He has been played on radio stations all over the world including the United States from Coast to Coast his biggest radio hits are "I Got To Have You", "In L.A.", "Baby I Love You", and "Sexy Ladies". Serio music has also been featured on every news media agency in the United States. This year alone he has been covered by Fox News, ABC, NBC, and CBS.

In 2023 Serio became an author releasing his first book ever entitled “The Cure To Recidivism” a self help book released on August 25th 2023. Serio has definitely been a breakthrough artist in his career as he is the first Chicano Rapper ever to release a book bringing an entirely new market of opportunity to the subgenre of Rap & Hip-Hop.

Serio has had a great deal of success with his independent label, Serio Controla Records. To date, his label has released 4 solo albums, 4 DVDs, and 1 book, selling over one million units worldwide.
